Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Joins Community for the City of Orlando’s 21st Bike to Work Day During Florida Bike Month this March
WHAT:
On Friday, March 25, 2022, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join residents, City of Orlando employees, and community partners to kick off Bike to Work Day in celebration of Florida Bike Month this March.
This free event starts with check-in at 7 a.m. at Lake Lorna Doone Park and Mayor Dyer will kick off the group ride at 8 a.m. A limited number of e-bikes will also be available for those who want to participate in the group bike ride but do not own a bike.
The ride will end at Orlando City Hall Plaza, where there will be a post-ride celebration, featuring music, giveaways, prizes for top teams, and more. Residents can also learn more about the city’s bike projects and connect to local organizations and resources.

Free all-day parking will be available at Lot 3, across from Lake Lorna Doone Park, between West Church Street and South Nashville Avenue, for Bike to Work Day participants. Group bike rides will be led back to Lake Lorna Doone Park at 9:30 a.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m.

BIKING IN ORLANDO BACKGROUND:
Since 2003, Mayor Dyer has helped to transform Orlando’s urban environment by investing in bike amenities, including bike repair stations, green bike lanes and improving connectivity through projects such as the Orlando Bicycle Beltway, Colonial Drive Overpass, the Downtown Loop and Orlando Bicycle Plan Update.
Today Orlando, a Bronze-Level Bicycle Friendly Community, is home to more than 360 miles of urban trails, signed routes and lanes created specifically for biking, with over 40 miles of these off-street.
