Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, who represents Florida’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to address concerns over the ongoing government shutdown and its effects on federal workers and healthcare premiums.
On October 9, 2025, Frost wrote, “Federal workers are paying the price for this shutdown while Trump and Russell Vought use them as pawns to weaponize our federal agencies. I met with local @AFGENational members who want to be able to take care of their families and serve our communities. I’m fighting to reopen”.
Later that day, he continued discussing the issue from a healthcare perspective after meeting with senior citizens in Central Florida. On October 9, 2025, he posted, “I met with Central FL seniors to talk about what the Republican government shutdown and health care crisis means for them. The reality? Premiums are skyrocketing for over 100K Floridians. Republicans need to end this shutdown and I’ll keep fighting to protect your care.”
Addressing a broader audience on October 10, 2025, Frost stated, “Millions of Americans — including 189,000 Central Floridians — are facing higher health care premiums because Republicans shut down the government and left town. Democrats are ready to reopen the government and protect healthcare. Republicans need to get back to work.”
Maxwell Frost has represented Florida’s 10th District since 2023 after succeeding Val Demings. He was born in Orlando in 1997 and continues to reside there. Frost holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
