Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, who represents Florida’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to criticize Congressional Republicans over the recent government shutdown and its impact on health care. In a series of posts between October 2 and October 4, 2025, Frost highlighted what he described as partisan divides on healthcare policy and the consequences for his constituents.
The following day, he wrote: “While Congressional Republicans are on vacation, I was out in the district yesterday chatting with folks about the impact of the Trump-Republican government shutdown and what it means for them and how we’re fighting to lower the cost of health care for Central Floridians.” On October 4, Frost referenced a local constituent in another post: “This shutdown fight is about Central Floridians like Rachel. Her family relies on the Affordable Care Act — but Republicans’ healthcare crisis would make it so Rachel’s family could no longer afford their premiums. I’ll keep fighting for families like hers & holding the line.”
Frost has represented Florida’s 10th District since replacing Val Demings in 2023. He was born in Orlando in 1997 and currently resides there. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
The ongoing debate over healthcare access has been central to recent legislative disputes, particularly amid federal funding disagreements that led to a government shutdown. The Affordable Care Act remains a key issue for many residents in Central Florida who depend on its provisions for coverage.
