Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, who represents Florida’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to address issues surrounding government funding, healthcare, and political violence as a potential government shutdown loomed at the end of September 2025.
On September 29, 2025, Frost posted about the imminent deadline for government funding and criticized Republican efforts in Congress. He wrote, “Government funding runs out tomorrow and Republicans are pushing a partisan bill that will cause health care costs to skyrocket. If ACA tax credits aren’t protected, 20 million Americans will see their premiums soar — including 189,000 Central Floridians. I won’t back any bill”.
The following day, with just hours remaining before a possible shutdown, Frost continued to express concern over congressional negotiations. On September 30, he stated: “T-minus 12 hours til a government shutdown and House Republicans are nowhere to be seen. House Democrats are here and ready to work and fight for a deal that protects your healthcare.”
Later on September 30, Frost addressed an incident involving another member of Congress. He condemned threats against Representative Jayapal by posting: “The death threats targeting Congresswoman Jayapal are vile, unacceptable, and must be condemned. As political violence rises across our country, we must reject it in all its forms and hold those responsible fully accountable.”
Frost began serving as the representative for Florida’s 10th district in January 2023 after succeeding Val Demings. Born in Orlando in 1997 and holding a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University, Frost is among the youngest members currently serving in Congress.
