Livable Orlando Age-Friendly Action Plan

0Comments

With Americans living longer, it’s important that we collectively work to create a community which helps older residents lead healthy and active lives. That’s why City of Orlando – Government joined AARP’s network of Age-Friendly Communities a few years ago.

After joining the network, we conducted extensive outreach, including surveys, focus groups and community conversations. The result of that effort is the Livable Orlando Age-Friendly Action Plan, which staff presented to City Council today, along with our Committee on Livability and Healthy Aging. The plan, which will go to City Council for approval next month, includes goals and action items that will help us ensure that older residents thrive in our community.
