Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, who represents Florida’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his Twitter account regarding the government shutdown that occurred on October 1, 2025.
In a post made less than three hours before the shutdown deadline, Frost wrote: “Less than 3 hours until a government shutdown. Democrats are standing ten toes down to protect working people and their health care. Republicans? They’re refusing to negotiate, putting 20 million Americans’ health and wallets on the line.” (October 1, 2025)
Later that night, after the shutdown had taken effect, Frost stated: “Republicans have officially shut down the government. Democrats are here to fight for a deal that reopens the government and lowers the cost of health care for working families across the country. The following day, Frost provided constituents with resources for navigating the effects of the shutdown: “Unsure how the government shutdown impacts you? Frost has represented Florida’s 10th District since replacing Val Demings in 2023. He was born in Orlando in 1997 and continues to reside there. At age 26, he is among the youngest members of Congress and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
