Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, who represents Florida’s 10th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to raise concerns about federal and state actions affecting Floridians during hurricane season.
On July 17, 2025, Frost posted on X: “Trump’s devastating cuts to science funding will force a dozen weather research labs to close. Without them, it’ll be harder to accurately predict when and where the next hurricane will hit, putting Floridians in harms way. This is reckless.” He referenced potential impacts on weather forecasting capabilities due to budget reductions.
The following day, July 18, 2025, Frost criticized the use of state resources by writing: “In the middle of hurricane season, Florida’s Office of Emergency Management should be busy preparing to keep people safe during the next major storm. Instead, Trump and DeSantis are using our tax dollars to have the agency run an internment camp in the Everglades. Outrageous.”
Later that same day, he addressed local safety issues amid extreme weather conditions: ” Central Florida — we’re facing a dangerous heat advisory this weekend! Use our Extreme Heat Resource Guide to stay safe, stay cool, and know where to go if you need help: https://t.co/wyaodmPloZ https://t.co/vXBo2LH8F2″
Frost was born in Orlando in 1997 and continues to reside there. He assumed office after replacing Val Demings in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
