The City of Orlando is starting its budget process for the 2025/2026 fiscal year with a work session scheduled for Monday, July 14, 2025. According to city officials, the proposed budget will be balanced and will not increase the millage rate. The focus remains on maintaining core municipal services and investing in infrastructure and transportation.

“The City of Orlando will begin its FY 25/26 budget process with a work session on Monday, July 14, 2025. Under Mayor Dyer’s leadership, the city will present a proposed balanced budget that does not raise the millage rate and continues to focus on maintaining and delivering core municipal services that residents depend on. It will also highlight Orlando’s continued commitment to provide an exceptional quality of life, further ensure a safe community, offer opportunity for all and invest in infrastructure projects and more multimodal transportation options.”

After this initial workshop, public hearings are set for September where residents can provide input. The first hearing is planned for September 8 at City Hall to adopt the proposed millage rate and establish a tentative budget along with the Capital Improvement Program. A final hearing and vote to adopt the budget are scheduled for September 22.

Mayor Buddy Dyer and members of the Orlando City Council will take part in these sessions alongside Michelle McCrimmon, Chief Financial Officer for the city.

If approved as scheduled, implementation of the new fiscal year budget would begin October 1, 2025.
