The City of Orlando has announced that applications are now open for the 2025 Mayor’s City Academy. This program is a free, 12-week civic engagement initiative designed to provide residents with an inside look at city government operations. Participants will have the opportunity to tour facilities such as the Kia Center, Water Conserv II, and the OPD training facility. They will meet various city personnel involved in different aspects of city management, from sanitary sewer line inspections to policy-making.

Residents of Orlando are encouraged to apply for one of the sixty available spots in this program. The academy aims to offer participants insights into volunteer opportunities and familiarize them with resources and programs accessible to city residents. Each session includes dinner.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, June 27. The academy sessions are scheduled to start on Thursday, August 21 at 5:30 p.m., continuing every Thursday evening until November 6.
