The City of Orlando has announced a pilot program to test new technology at its water reclamation facility. The 90-day initiative, supported by a Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) grant and in partnership with 374Water, aims to explore advanced treatment systems for wastewater.
This pilot will utilize supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) technology. This method is designed to decompose harmful contaminants into carbon dioxide, water, and minerals. The project is financed by the CWSRF with funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and is anticipated to offer valuable insights for future wastewater treatment practices across the nation.
The CWSRF program, funded by the U.S. EPA, provides financial support for water infrastructure projects throughout the United States. It assists communities in enhancing their wastewater systems and safeguarding water quality.
Ashley Papagni and Andrea Otero serve as Public Information Managers for this initiative. They can be contacted via email or phone for further information regarding the pilot program.
