District 3 City Commissioner Roger Chapin will join the City of Orlando’s Families, Parks and Recreation Department on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, to open the newly renovated playground at Signal Hill Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
This event marks the first of 11 planned park improvements throughout Orlando over the next two years. The project is part of ongoing efforts by the city to invest in neighborhood parks and provide spaces for families and children to gather and play.
Signal Hill Park now includes new play areas designed for children aged 2–5 and 5–12, updated playground equipment, shaded seating areas, and new benches for families. During construction, Rolling Hills Elementary School allowed temporary access to its school grounds and basketball courts. As a gesture of thanks, students from Rolling Hills Elementary have been invited to be the first to use the new playground equipment alongside Commissioner Chapin during the ribbon cutting.
The event will take place at Signal Hill Park, located at 3877 Watch Hill Road, starting at 10:30 a.m.
