ATTRACTIONS

Universal Orlando’s first-ever escape room experience, Universal’s Great Movie Escape, will open at CityWalk on December 9. Inspired by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World and Back to the Future films, the experience invites guests of all ages to solve their way through two first-of-its-kind escape rooms.

Walt Disney World Resort’s Magnolia golf course will partially reopen with 14 holes on Dec. 12. The redesign will include several new Disney touches, including a new Disney-themed name for each hole along with an inspiring quote from Walt Disney or Arnold Palmer, in celebration of the course’s 50-year history.

Universal Orlando Resort will debut Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, a first-of-its-kind diabolical family attraction inspired by Illumination’s Minions Franchise, in summer 2023. The all-new interactive, blaster game experience will invite guests to put their villainous skills to the test as they compete to join the ranks of the franchise’s infamous supervillains. The new attraction will open within a new Minion Land on Illumination Ave, which will also feature the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction, a new Minion Café and other surprises inspired by characters from Illumination’s blockbuster franchises.

 

DINING & NIGHTLIFE

Taverna Opa will celebrate Christmas Eve OPA-style, featuring a special family-style menu for four or more guests available all day, along with the regular menu full of Greek favorites and live belly dancing entertainment during dinner.

 

EVENTS & FESTIVALS

Walt Disney World unveiled new details for the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth, including the debut of an all-new light show at Spaceship Earth, holiday light displays at Living with the Land – Glimmering Greenhouses and an all-new holiday remix with a Guardians twist on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Gatorland’s third annual Holiday Ho Ho Ho-Down Christmas event returns on select dates Dec. 3-18. The signature holiday event, included with regular admission, will feature live music, festive displays with interactive characters like Gator Claus, his Merry Elves and Krampus Croc, along with festive food items for purchase.

Old Town Entertainment District will hold its 15th Annual Holiday Golf Cart Parade on Dec. 10, featuring more than 100 decorated golf carts cruising down the blocks of Main Street at Old Town.

Oh, What Fun! Lake Nona, the annual family-friendly holiday festival, has transformed the Lake Nona Town Center into a winter wonderland known as Peppermint Square, for select nights Dec. 7-24, with a calendar full of celebrations and events including live entertainment, nightly “snowfall,” a holiday market, a Hanukkah Celebration of Lights and more. 

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts presented by AT&T will return to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate visual, culinary, and performing arts Jan. 13 – Feb. 20, featuring a full lineup of performances from some of Broadway’s biggest stars performing songs from more than 25 years of award-winning DISNEY ON BROADWAY stage productions.
