I often drive by the site of the old Ambassador Hotel on West Colonial Drive and love seeing that work to transform it into safe, affordable apartments is underway. As part of our Accelerate Orlando initiative to address two of our region's most complex challenges - affordable housing and homelessness - we're partnering with One Stop Housing to develop the Palm Gardens Orlando Apartments.

Thanks to renovations, a blighted property will be turned into 150 apartment units, including some for permanent, supportive housing for homeless individuals.
