10 a.m. - Equal Justice Initiative Marker Dedication  

Wells’Built Museum of African American History and Culture, 511 West South Street

Mayor Dyer will join Florida State Senator Geraldine Thompson, Daytona Beach Mayor Derek Henry, Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), the Alliance for Truth and Justice (ATJ) and Wells’Built Museum representatives for the dedication ceremony of the EJI Historical Marker to honor the life of Arthur Henry, a Black man and Orlando resident who was the victim of a racially motivated lynching in 1925. The marker will share the story of Arthur Henry as part of an effort to learn from the past to help create a more inclusive community for all.

3:15 p.m. - AT&T Connected Learning Center Grand Opening

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, 700 South Lakeland Avenue

Mayor Dyer will join representatives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida and AT&T for the grand opening of Orlando’s first Connected Learning Center. This new addition to the Jacqueline Bradley and Clarence Otis Family Branch will help equip children participating in Boys & Girls Club programming with the resources they need to strengthen digital literacy skills and further the city’s efforts to create equitable access to the internet and help bridge the digital divide.
