5.7% of citizens unemployed in Orange County in 2021

Orange County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 43,157 people out of the 1,409,949 living in Orange County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Orange County has increased compared to the 5.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Orange County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 718,104 people who had a job during that time, 1,355 were employed in the Armed Forces and 716,749 belonged to the civilian labor force.
