The City of Orlando is inviting residents to attend the Oath of Office ceremony for the Mayor of Orlando and City Commission Districts 2, 4, and 6. This ceremony celebrates the swearing-in of Mayor Buddy Dyer, District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz, District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan, and District 6 Commissioner Bakari F. Burns for their four-year terms on the Orlando City Council.

The Oath of Office ceremony is an important event that reaffirms each elected official's commitment to faithfully perform their duties as outlined in the Mayor and District City Commissioner roles within the City of Orlando. According to the City of Orlando's Charter, the Mayor and City Commissioners are required to recite the Oath before assuming their duties.

The ceremony will take place on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the DeVos Family Room at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for media set-up, and media interviews will be held immediately following the ceremony. Media parking will be available in the reserved parking spaces along South Magnolia Avenue in front of the Dr. Phillips Center, and media must show credentials to parking attendants.

For those unable to attend the ceremony in person, live and encore presentations will be available at Orlando.gov/oath.
