The City of Orlando is inviting downtown professionals, residents, and the community to celebrate Earth Month at the Earth Day Work Day event on Friday, April 26, 2024. The event will take place at City Hall Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The theme for this year's celebration is "Planet vs. Plastics." This theme aims to highlight the importance of preserving the natural environment through recycling and reducing plastic production.

Earth Day Work Day is more than just a celebration; it's a sustainability fair located in the city’s downtown core. The fair will feature educational games, local vendors, music, eco-friendly giveaways, and engaging activities such as conservation kits and painting rain barrels. Attendees will have the opportunity to join the city’s Green Works team to learn more about the city’s sustainability initiatives such as zero waste, clean energy, transportation, water recycling and other ways to protect the environment.

This event is part of Orlando's ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life, generate diverse economic growth, build a positive and responsible relationship with earth’s resources and create equitable access to sustainability services for all members of the Orlando community.

The Earth Day Work Day event is sponsored by the Downtown Development Board, Piedmont Office Realty Trust and Impress Ink. For more information about Earth Day Work Day visit orlando.gov/earthdayworkday.
