In observance of Juneteenth, City Hall and non-essential city services will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Residential trash pick-up will occur as usual.

The City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board (DDB) has partnered with United Arts of Central Florida (UA) to enhance downtown Orlando’s arts and cultural offerings. On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join elected officials and community partners to celebrate the launch of this new arts initiative in downtown Orlando.

This initiative aims to elevate the city’s cultural landscape by providing exceptional arts experiences seven days a week and adding to the city’s arts and cultural offerings by showcasing its community’s creativity. During the event, attendees will enjoy a live performance and the unveiling of a new art structure near Visit Orlando and the Orlando Economic Partnership’s “Unbelievably Real” mural on South Orange Avenue and Pine Street.

Through a collaborative effort between DDB and UA, alongside Creative City Project and the Downtown Arts District, downtown Orlando is set to become a hub of creativity and cultural vitality. This initiative is part of the ongoing Project DTO which aims to make high-quality arts experiences accessible to residents and visitors alike, enriching the community's cultural fabric day and night, weekdays and weekends.
