The City of Orlando has provided an update regarding Hurricane Helene to keep the community informed. The city experienced minimal impacts during the day, but continued rain and strong winds are expected throughout the evening and overnight.

The City of Orlando Emergency Operations Center plans to return to a Level 3 activation at 10 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024. City departments are actively monitoring the storm's impact, assessing damage, and sharing essential information with residents.

To report power outages or downed power lines, OUC customers can call 407-423-9018 or text "OUT" to 69682. Downed trees can be reported via the non-emergency line at 407-246-2283. For emergencies requiring immediate attention, residents should call 9-1-1.

Solid Waste collection ended at 2 p.m. today. Streets not serviced will be picked up tomorrow, September 27, 2024. Residential garbage collection, including storm debris, will follow regular schedules starting tomorrow. Residents are advised to bag and bundle debris to prevent it from entering storm drains, which could slow water drainage and prolong recovery time.

City Hall and other facilities such as neighborhood centers, parks, pools, and swan boats will reopen on Friday for normal business hours. After-school programs will also resume on Friday across all sites. The decision regarding the reopening of Leu Gardens will be made tomorrow.

Residents can stay informed through various City of Orlando digital channels or visit orlando.gov/storm for more information.
