Valencia College issued the following announcement.
Valencia College will hold its annual Spring Dance Concert on March 20 and 21, featuring the work of renowned guest choreographers Alberto del Saz and Jon Lehrer — and a tribute to the late Derrick Minter, a former Alvin Ailey dancer who frequently served as a guest choreographer at Valencia College.
The concert will be held at 8 p.m. in Valencia’s East Campus Performing Arts Center.
In addition to the tribute to Minter, the concert will include “Dark Facets,” an original modern dance choreographed by international choreographer Alberto del Saz, and will close with Pantheon Rising, a modern piece created by returning guest choreographer Jon Lehrer. This is the ninth year that Lehrer has collaborated with the Valencia College dance department.
The concert features student dancers and guest artists, performing the works of guest choreographers.
Ticket prices are $12 for the general public and $10 for Valencia employees, students, alumni and senior citizens. Tickets are $6 for children ages 12 and under. Current Valencia College students will be admitted free with a current Valencia College I.D.
