Today’s travel tip sheet includes information on frights and fun in the Halloween Vacation Capital®, ways to enjoy a foodie getaway in Orlando on a budget, water experiences for everyone in the family and the latest on what’s new in Orlando. Halloween Frights and Fun in Orlando

From trick-or-treat trails to creepy drive-thru experiences, it’s no wonder Orlando is the Halloween Vacation Capital®. With brand new theme park events and Halloween happenings at attractions throughout the destination, there’s something for every scare level - from frightening to fun. 

HALLOWEEN FUN FOR LITTLE ONES

  • Little ones can dress up in their favorite costumes to trick-or-treat and meet silly Halloween characters at the SeaWorld Spooktacular family friendly daytime event on weekends from Sept. 18 to Oct. 31.  
  • Screamin' Green Hauntoween at Crayola Experience celebrates the Halloween season with monster-ific crafts and spooky surprises for the entire family. Dance parties and trick-or-treating are offered on weekends, while weekdays include scavenger hunts, live slime shows and SLIME TIME, a spooky, sticky art class.   
  • Gatorland‘s “Gators, Ghosts and Goblins” event (weekends from Oct. 9-31) features specially themed shows, ghoulish selfie zones and “Frank & Stein’s” Octoberfest Pavilion.  

ORLANDO’S MOST FRIGHTFUL EVENTS

  • Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort (Sept. 3 – Oct. 31) is back for its 30th year. Horror enthusiasts can experience terrifying haunted houses, sinister scare zones, outrageous live entertainment and some of the park’s most exhilarating attractions.  
  • SeaWorld Orlando’s first-ever separate ticketed nighttime Halloween event, Howl-O-Scream, will terrorize guests on select nights starting Sept. 10 through Oct. 31 with fright-inducing haunted houses and scare zones; thrilling rides and experiences; an interactive bar and an electrifying live show. 
  • Scream n’ Stream Drive-Thru Halloween Experience at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures (select nights Sept. 17 – Oct. 31) is an interactive drive-thru horror adventure featuring goblins, zombies and more.

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining Extends through Oct. 17

Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining and Magical Nights will be extended through Oct. 17, providing foodies an additional two weeks to not only savor delicious cuisine, but also enjoy a foodie weekend getaway complete with exclusive hotel and resort offers. Examples include: 

  • Summer Bay Orlando by Exploria: Save up to 30% off an overnight stay in a 1-bedroom condo. 
  • Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa: Save up to 30% plus receive $50 resort credit.   
  • Drury Inn & Suites Near Universal Orlando Resort: Save up to 15% and enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast.  

Family-Friendly Fun in the Water

From gliding through Florida’s wetlands to paddling on your own personal swan boat, Orlando offers a variety of experiences for everyone in the family to soak up the last days of summer: 

  • The Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour offers hour-long, guided cruises through a tranquil chain of lakes and man-made canals. Riders can observe large cranes swooping waterside to snag a large fish or a lazy alligator languishing on a nearby bank, while also learning a brief history of Winter Park, Central Florida's oldest community. 
  • The swan boats rentals at Lake Eola Park are a fun family activity available for a nominal fee. Visitors can enjoy the views of the 43-acre recreational area in the heart of downtown Orlando and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy afterward.   
  • Boggy Creek Airboat Rides provides a classic Florida experience, offering up-close and personal views into the beauty of the headwaters to the Everglades as guests glide through wetlands at speeds of up to 50 mph. Each ride offers a unique glimpse of eagles, osprey, snakes, turtles and alligators. 
  • Epic Paddle Adventures offers kayak and paddleboard rentals along with guided tours for every skill level, including night glow paddles and a Paddle with Pups in Paradise experience, for families traveling with their furry companions.
