City of Orlando issued the following announcement on October 12.
WEEKEND WATCH: Transportation Advice for October 15-17, 2021
WHAT:
As downtown Orlando continues to be the place for Central Florida to gather and create unique experiences, the city is committed to helping visitors and residents easily get to the area, find parking, enjoy the atmosphere and travel safely.
Visitors should be mindful that road closures in the downtown area change periodically based on event needs, construction of Ultimate I-4 and 408 and other related development in the area.
The weekend of October 15, in addition to downtown's regular active and vibrant scene, several large-scale events are planned and additional road closures will be implemented related to these. Large-scale events include:
- IMMERSE 2021 – October 15-17
- Synapse Orlando – October 15
- Viva Orlando – October 16
- iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina – October 16
For more information on parking, a road closure map, and event listings please visit orlando.gov/weekendwatch.
PARKING TIPS:
Patrons traveling in vehicles to downtown should consider planning their travel routes based on where they will park and use the parking location address to navigate.
Most parking garages in downtown Orlando are a short walk from entertainment locations and will allow patrons to enter and exit quicker than those in close proximity to venues.
ROAD CLOSURES:
Detour signs will be clearly posted before and along detour routes.
INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES:
For interview opportunities about upcoming events or road closures, please contact Samantha Holsten, City of Orlando Public Information Officer at Samantha.Holsten@Orlando.gov.
