11 a.m. - Women’s History Month Marker Unveiling

Mayor Dyer will join City Commissioners, former Orange County Mayor Linda Chapin and the League of Women Voters to unveil a women’s suffrage historical marker in honor of Women’s History Month. The marker commemorates the work of Reverend Mary Safford, who played a key role in advancing women’s rights to vote in Orlando and putting Central Florida on the map as one of the country’s early leaders in equity and inclusion for all.

10:30 a.m. – First Step Staffing Program Work-Along
1400 Gaston Foster Road
Mayor Dyer will work alongside a City of Orlando Public Works maintenance crew to collect litter and beautify Gaston Foster Road. The crew includes a team member who was previously homeless and placed in his position through a partnership with First Step Staffing. Currently, nearly 50 individuals are working at the City of Orlando through this partnership and working their way out of homelessness.
