The projects were submitted to the House Committee on Appropriations for funding consideration in the FY2024 cycle

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On April 18, 2023 , Congressman Darren Soto (FL-09) announced that he submitted 15 Community Project Funding (CPF) requests to the House Committee on Appropriations for funding consideration in the FY2024 cycle. These projects consider the most urgent needs of Florida's Ninth Congressional District and aim to improve the lives of Central Floridians.

"I am honored to advocate for projects that will help build affordable housing, alleviate traffic, prioritize pedestrian safety for students, strengthen the district’s clean water infrastructure and flood prevention efforts, improve our world-class airport, and more," said Congressman Soto. "These projects were developed in partnership with our local governments in a bipartisan fashion to ensure we protect our quality of life in Orange, Osceola, and Polk Counties. I will work tirelessly with the House Committee on Appropriations to make them a reality."

When funding consideration was announced earlier this year, Congressman Soto and his staff reached out and met with numerous stakeholders in Central Florida to identify top projects. As part of the committee's efforts to ensure transparency, Congressman Soto certified that he, his spouse, and his immediate family have no interest in the projects submitted.
