The City of Orlando is hosting meetings for the Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee this week. The committee will gather over two consecutive days to discuss a conceptual design for a memorial dedicated to the 49 victims of the Pulse tragedy.

According to city officials, "The Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee consists of members representing victims’ families, survivors and other stakeholders." The committee was established to guide efforts in creating a permanent memorial at the Pulse site. It aims to foster input and engagement in both English and Spanish, with plans to recommend a design by year-end.

These meetings are part of ongoing monthly sessions that will continue through the end of the year. In addition to committee activities, families, survivors, and community members will have opportunities to contribute ideas for the memorial's design. This includes participating in community meetings and providing feedback online.

Agendas, minutes, and updates from these meetings can be accessed at pulseorlando.org/committee.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. for media setup. It will take place at Orlando City Hall in the Fairview Room on the ninth floor.

For those unable to attend in person, virtual participation is available in both English and Spanish via pulseorlando.org/meetinginformation.

Media parking is available along South Orange Avenue and in the City Commons Parking Garage as per orlando.gov/mediaparking instructions. Media representatives should enter through security check-in on City Hall's first floor.
