The Orlando Pride has achieved a significant milestone by winning the National Women’s Soccer League championship, marking the first major league title for a professional sports team in Orlando. To celebrate this victory, a parade and celebration ceremony are scheduled for Monday, November 25, 2024, in downtown Orlando.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has invited the community to join the festivities. The parade will commence at 4:30 p.m., starting from Central Boulevard and proceeding down Orange Avenue to City Hall. Participants will include Orlando Pride players, the Walt Disney World’s Main Street Philharmonic, special guests, and giveaways.
"This victory is not just for the Orlando Pride; it's for the entire city," stated Mayor Dyer. "Our community has stood behind this team every step of the way, and we can’t wait to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication."
Following the parade, a celebration ceremony will take place outside City Hall from 5 to 5:45 p.m., where attendees will have their first opportunity to view the championship trophy.
Attendees are encouraged to use public transportation options such as SunRail or LYNX buses to avoid traffic congestion. Road closures on Orange Avenue are expected between 3:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.
After the ceremony, media representatives will have access to select Orlando Pride players and key figures such as Head Coach Seb Hines, VP of Soccer Operations Haley Carter, Owner and Chairman Mark Wilf, President of Business Operations Jarrod Dillon, and Mayor Buddy Dyer.
