Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will host the annual Tree Lighting Celebration at Lake Eola Park on Friday, December 6, 2024. The event marks the start of the holiday season in Orlando and invites the community to participate in various festivities.

The celebration begins at 5 p.m., culminating with the lighting of the Lake Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree at 8 p.m. The tree, standing 64 feet tall, is decorated with 2,000 ornaments and over 200 pounds of lights synchronized with music from the Lake Eola fountain.

In addition to the tree lighting, attendees can enjoy a holiday market, food trucks, a vendor village, visits with Santa Claus, and a Florida snowfall experience. Musical performances by Monument Records duo Tigirlily will take place at 5:30 p.m., followed by a stage show at 7 p.m. Mayor Dyer will be available for interviews at 7:45 p.m.

The DTOLive holiday program will continue every weekend through December 22 at the Walt Disney Amphitheater. It features diverse musical performances including classical symphonies, festive choirs, jazz bands, and acoustic sets. The schedule for these shows can be found on downtownorlando.com/holidays.

For those unable to attend the tree lighting event on December 6th, there will be a synchronized light and music Christmas Tree Show every evening until January 6th. This show runs hourly from 5:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

Event parking is available for media in bagged metered spaces along Rosalind Avenue's west side. Attendees are encouraged to use alternative transportation methods such as SunRail, ride-sharing services, bike-sharing options, carpooling or the free downtown LYMMO circulator service.

Further information about the event can be accessed via orlando.gov/treelighting.
