Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan Celebrate the Completion of the SoDo Urban Trail Extension
Extension further improves mobility and connectivity in the SoDo Main Street District
WHAT:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan, representatives from Orlando Health, the Florida Department of Transportation, the SoDo Neighborhood Improvement District and the SoDo Main Street District celebrate the completion of the SoDo Urban Trail extension with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. This extension will connect the south of downtown to the Urban Trail and the future Downtown Loop.
The SoDo Urban Trail extension runs along South Division Avenue from West Michigan Street to West Gore Street with a spur along Columbia Street that connects to the Orlando Amtrak Station. Key features of the trail include LED lighting, park benches, luminescent sidewalk pebbles, shaded trellises, native landscaping and shade trees, decorative crosswalks and informative trail markers.
The new multimodal trail in SoDo builds on the city’s effort to be one of the most pedestrian and bike-friendly cities in the country.
