Luminary Green Park at Creative Village Opening

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 5 City Commissioner Regina I. Hill Open Luminary Green Park at Creative Village

Signature Park Features Unique Gathering Space and Honors Outstanding Contributions to the Parramore-Holden Community

WHAT:

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 5 City Commissioner Regina I. Hill will officially open Orlando’s newest gathering place, Luminary Green Park, during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 11 a.m.

This 2.3-acre park located at downtown’s Creative Village will be a unique and special gathering space for residents, workers and students that will compliment Parramore and serve as a signature park in downtown for generations to come.

A key feature of the park will include a dedicated area with lighted, glass and steel installations that will posthumously honor individuals as Luminaries for their service to the Parramore-Callahan community. These luminary light features will be installed late this fall and unveiled at a dedication ceremony to honor the inaugural class of 12 Luminaries.

Other features of the park include:

Decorative and interactive light installations illuminating the park from day to night.

A large artistic circular trellis that will serve as the aesthetic cornerstone of the park and provide additional shaded area for park patrons.

A large, open lawn space for picnics, play and events.

Landscaped areas shaded with canopy trees and seating structures.

A city themed photo spot.
